DRUMBEAT is an acronym that stands for "Developing Relationships Using Music, Beliefs, Emotions, Attitudes, Thoughts". It is not a music class, drum circle or culturally-specific drum class. Rather, it is an evidence-based and outcome-oriented standardized protocol that uses rhythm to build resilience and social-emotional learning skills in students.
No musical experience is required for DRUMBEAT training -- we have trained administrators, guidance counselors, classroom teachers, paras, librarians, PE coaches, behavior interventionists, and music teachers. The protocol itself is a powerful tool for building relationships and community; the number one indicator of success is the facilitator's relationship with the group.
At the end of our 2-day training, you will be prepared to deliver the DRUMBEAT protocol to any client group you are comfortable working with. Join us to learn how to build resilience through rhythm!
The cost to attend DRUMBEAT training is $400 per person. Training days run from 9 am to 4 pm. Dress is casual and comfortable. Drums and all training materials are provided. Participants should bring a lunch and any comfort caffeine or comfort carbs they require.
